What Friends Can Expect When Giving to a Birthday Fund
A contributor guide to checking the fund, choosing a gift, reviewing fees, and understanding the payment result.

Someone has sent you a Birthday Hunter fund link. Before giving, read the page as you would any birthday request: whose celebration is it, what is the gift for, and is it something you want to support?
You do not need a Birthday Hunter account to contribute. You do still need to follow checkout and review the payment details.
Check the person and the purpose
Use the approved link shared by someone you know. Read the title and description rather than relying only on the message that accompanied it. If the request is unexpected or the details seem wrong, confirm with the person through a conversation you already trust.
A fund can collect gifts toward part of an experience or purchase. It does not mean the recipient has already booked or bought it. Their description should explain the plan and any uncertainty.
Choose a gift that fits your budget
Contributing is optional. Choose what is comfortable for you without comparing yourself with other friends. Sending a birthday message or celebrating together is also a valid choice.
Review the checkout total before paying. Birthday Hunter adds fees to the selected gift so the amount you spend is higher than the amount chosen for the recipient. If the total exceeds your budget, adjust your choice before confirming.
Follow the payment instructions
Complete the payment steps shown in checkout and read the result. Do not treat a click on the button as proof that payment succeeded. Keep any confirmation details provided so you can identify the transaction if you need help later.
If the result is unclear or a screen stalls, check for confirmation before trying again. Repeated attempts are not a useful way to diagnose an uncertain payment. Use the support information in the product if you cannot tell what happened, and avoid sending full payment-card details in a support message.
Understand what happens for the recipient
A completed contribution and money arriving in the recipient's bank are different events. Stripe verification and the account's bank-transfer schedule affect when funds are available. Do not promise your friend that they can spend the gift immediately just because checkout finished.
A birthday contribution is a personal gift toward the stated plan. Do not assume charitable tax treatment or a guaranteed purchase outcome. If you need clarification about a changed plan or a payment problem, ask before making assumptions about refunds or transfer timing.
Add a personal birthday message
Send a text or make a call alongside the gift if you would like. The message can focus on the wish: “Hope this helps with your class. Have a wonderful birthday.” You do not need to announce the amount publicly.
Want a page for your own celebration? Learn about Birthday Funds, then create your fund and finish setup and review. Creators should read the separate setup fee before paying; a charged fee applies even without gifts.
